9.00am - 12.00pm

Fantasy Illustration for Games and Covers with Kekai Kotaki

This workshop covers the topics of character archetypes, establishing visual design themes, costume, props and painting techniques. Kekai will show his design process for creating unique and interesting character designs and illustrations. Kekai’s demos will show how he creates thumbnails, silhouettes, B&W value studies, colour studies, texturing and final production painting.

12.30pm - 3.30pm

Pre-Visualization for Matte-Painting with Gerhard Mozsi

Will focus on the foundations of thumbnails, value/lighting,composition, digital painting techniques and architectural design skills used commonly in movie, game and cinematic productions. Gerhard will show his professional work flow creating thumnails, B&W value studies, colour studies, texturing and matte painting techniques.

3.45pm - 6.45pm

Vehicle and Mech Design with John Park

In this workshop John will cover the topics of creating visually interesting and believable vehicle and mech designs for games. A strong emphasis will be placed on shape, design and functionality. With a focus on drawing and design John will show his process for creating thumbnails, silhouettes, B&W value studies, colour studies, texturing and final production painting.

Sculpting in ZBrush for Concept Artists with Ben Mauro

This workshop will cover how to develop a unique visual style when creating character designs for film. Ben will show how you can use ZBrush to really push and enhance the design process. Topics covered will include character design, thumbnails, silhouettes and archetypes, texturing and painting.

1.15pm - 5.00pm

Oil painting techniqes with Robin Eley

This workshop covers the topics painting with oil paints, preparing your canvas, underpainting, what paints to use and what brushes to use. Robin will go through his unique process of setting up a colour palette and show you how this can really help to define your painting process.
